The following are some questions to get you thinking. You can answer some or all of these questions as a couple or separately. Or tell me something else about your relationship you’d like to include in your ceremony. These questions might also help give you ideas for writing your own vows. You each have your own perspective, so there may be two different versions of your story and you can include both.
- When, where and how did you meet?
- How and when did your relationship start, and how did it progress?
- What things do you have in common, what are your major differences?
- What do you enjoy doing together?
- Do you have children (together or separately)?
- Do you have pets, and how do they bring you together?
- Are there any challenges you have faced together?
- How did you know you wanted to get married?
- Was there a big proposal or was it something you talked about a lot together?
- What are your plans for the future? Will you have children?
- Do you have a relationship role model- another couple you hope to be like, and why?
- What makes you happy? What things do you do for each other to show you care?
- What makes your relationship work – similar goals, working together, sense of humor, activities you share, sharing each other’s family, being each other’s support, understanding, etc…?
- What qualities or little things do you love about each other?
