Tree Planting Ceremony

NAME & NAME will now take part in a Tree Planting ceremony to symbolize their union and the continued growth of their love.

*The soil they will use to nurture this young sapling has been gathered from the gardens of their parents’ homes. That soil represents their beginnings, the love and support they have received that has made them the person they are today. (*optional)

Soil itself is alive, filled with microorganisms, fungi, and bacteria that actually make nutrients available for a tree to absorb through its roots so it can grow and flourish. In healthy soil, a trees roots can grow deep and strong, anchoring it through wind and storms. Good soil allows a tree to blossom, set fruit and flourish. Soil is to plants as love is to marriage.

Love is the essence of human experience and emotion. It is the root of all and everything we, as humans, do. Love is also an action, a choice we make to put another person’s needs on par with our own, to show we care for them, and give of ourselves. Love enriches our experience, and fills our lives with meaning. It gives us a firm base from which to grow, to learn, and change.
